Adison Raelle Messett

December 11, 1970 — January 29, 2024

Adison was born on December 11, 1970, in Canora, SK and was raised on the farm near Swan Plain.   She passed peacefully at home on January 29, surrounded by loved ones after a long bout with illness.  She leaves behind her husband, Lee, and son, Tyler (Jolene).  Also left to mourn are Adison’s siblings, Abe (Edna), Martin (Helena), Eva (Elmer), Herman (Erna), John (Dianne) and her sister Marge, In-laws Bill and Sandra, Sister-in-law Tera (Chet) and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.  Adison was predeceased by her parents, John and Margaretha Goertzen and best friend/niece, Twyla McPhee.

Adison graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with an honors degree in psychology and continued further studies throughout her career, focusing on early childhood development and working with children and families.

Lee and Adison were married in 2001 and have spent most of their time together living and working in communities throughout northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Adison enjoyed spending time fishing, hiking, quadding, and berry picking.  She was an accomplished artist and writer and was a bright light to many.

The most important part of Adison’s life was her family, and she was always available to listen, laugh or provide a shoulder to cry on.  Adison is now in the kingdom of heaven, her faith was a source of strength and joy during her short time in this world.

Her most recent caregivers, Dr. Edmund Royeppen, Danielle Stevenson, and Dr. Carmen Johnson are all angels among us and went above and beyond to ensure Adison was given comfort and care.

A Celebration of Life will be held  on Saturday, February 3rd, 2024 at 1:00pm, at Cherished Memories Funeral Chapel, 591 Centennial Dr N, Martensville, SK. A livestream link has been set up at https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/85706
