Alice was very close to her family growing up as most children were during the 1950’s, mom went on to marry Kris Steve Haugen in 1967 and they would have 4 children, 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Alice was a great mom and really enjoyed family events, she played sports like baseball, darts she also enjoyed playing games and going on vacation. Below are words by each of her children.

Quinten: Mom my life will not be the same without you, no more Friday drunken calls, no more of the Alice song, I will miss you mom and will see you on the other side.

Lorrie: Mom, losing you & Dad has taken a huge part of me that I will never recover from. You are my best friend, my strength & the greatest mother that anyone could have ever dreamt of having, thank you for always being there and teaching me so much in life. I love you Mom and cherish all the memories we made together.

Clayton: Mom, I can’t believe you are gone. I haven’t felt right since you left.  Trying not to lose it, I have my moments of break down. I don’t know how many times I had my phone in my hand to call you and talk suppers with you or even just to be greedy and hear your voice. I keep looking over videos to hear your voice and to see you, trying to trick my mind your just on vacation. I know you’re not, but it isn’t easy right now. In time it will ease up. But now, numbness. Having our talk before you moved into palliative care made the things clearer for me. I know strong people throughout my life, but seeing you face this unmerciful tragedy made me know How strong you are. You are the Strongest Person I ever knew knowing what was coming. You fought for months just to make this easier on us kids. We all seen what you went through and even your doctors couldn’t believe your resilience.   Thank you for being my mom and my Everything!! I love you and Dad, until we see each other again.

Gary: Mom, I have a hard time saying much anymore, since you left, I have been having a hard time, I miss you in every look and every sound, you were truly my team, my mom. Cindy and I are at a loss as you were the mother that made us feel like kids by always looking out for us like we were still young. Mom you were always there with us, playing sports, playing games, going on trips, and let me say you were Cindy and my bestie, Mom Cindy and I were so happy that you and dad made a home with us and i enjoyed that you finally had the yard you always wanted Mom, I will miss you every day until the end then maybe we will see each other again.

We will be having a Come and Go Tea Celebration of Alice’s life, on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 1-3pm at Cherished Memories Funeral Chapel, 591 Centennial Dr N, Martensville.
