Alice "Owchipiwaysis" Abraham, born on June 24, 1942, passed away on December 18, 2024. Alice was a remarkable individual—an embodiment of love, resilience, and community spirit. Her life was dedicated to nurturing those around her with her love and kindness.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Ursula and Judy, and her cherished daughter Holly (Calvin) Sinclair, who carry forward her legacy of compassion and strength. A beacon of support and affection, Alice's influence reached far beyond her immediate family, as she was blessed with many nieces and nephews whom she lovingly raised as her own children.
Alice's heart swelled with pride and joy for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each one a light in her life and a testament to the love she poured into her family. She took immense joy in their accomplishments and milestones, always ready to lend an ear or share a piece of her wisdom.
She leaves behind a cherished family that will honor her memory, including Aunt Mary Thunderchild of Turtleford and Uncle Fred John of Kehewin. The laughter and stories shared amongst them will forever echo the vibrant life Alice led.
Alice reunites with her beloved parents, Edward and Marie Owchipiwaysis, and her siblings: Victoria Martell, Fra Vincent, Baptiste Martell, Virg, and Cecile Abraham, in the vast embrace of eternity. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and their absence only deepened the love Alice shared with those still here.
As we reflect on her incredibly touching journey, we remember a woman whose spirit could light up the darkest of days. Alice "Owchipiwaysis" Abraham will be profoundly missed, held dearly in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of love will continue to resonate in the lives she touched and in the many stories that will be told in her honor.
