Alma Jean Wruck

January 17, 1947 — October 31, 2023

Jean Wruck of Saskatoon passed away at the age of 75 at St. Paul's Hospital, where she was also born, surrounded by loved ones.
Born to John and Rynata Trost, she married Theodore (Ted) Wruck in October 1966, and they raised four children.
Early on, Jean worked at the Saskatoon Sanitorium in laundry, as well as a cashier at Sunbeam Confectionery. However, for most of her career, she affectionately ran a daycare in her Fairhaven community home, where she lived for 45 years, earning her the nickname "Auntie Jean" by the kids she cared for.
Known for her generosity and kindness, Jean touched the lives of so many and she lived her life filled with contentment.
She was deeply involved in her church and cherished her quilting group's friendships.
Surviving a brain stem aneurysm at age 50, she cared for her husband, Ted, who had previously suffered a stroke. They spent most of their time together over the next 25 years.
Jean is predeceased by Ted, her sister Marilyn Petty, and her parents.
Mourning her loss are her children: Tim (Tara), Tracey (Steve) Moretto, Trevor (Nicole), & Troy (Alyssa); her grandchildren: Tyler (Brayden), Kristen, Dakota (Bailey), Sebastian, Oliver & Brianna (Angus); her great-grandchildren: Arloe, Olivia, Brantlie, Hunter & Asher; her sister Donna (George) Tisserand, and brothers Ken (Brenda) & Doug Trost as well as many in-laws, nieces & nephews.
The family extends their sincerest gratitude to Jean's sister, Donna, for being her primary caregiver throughout her illness and to the Palliative Care Unit staff at St. Paul's Hospital.
A Celebration of Life Service for both Jean and Ted will be planned for the future. In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Saskatoon Food Bank.
