Andrew was born to Nellie and Nick Sirota and grew up on farms in the Langham and Eagle Creek districts. He and his wife Olga farmed near Arelee. Andrew was a brother to George, Alex, and John. Predeceased by his parents, wife Olga, son Delbert, and brothers and sisters-in-law George (Doris) and Alex (Pamela).
Andrew loved farming (over 60 years) and made time for sports. He was a great ball player, a precise curler, a serious Kaiser player, and, starting in his 80’s, a familiar face at the gym. Andrew volunteered throughout his life to help others in his community.
Family and friends were important to Dad. Over his lifetime, Dad set aside time to spend with others including trips with his family to visit relatives and friends. Andrew and Olga traveled to Hawaii where they enjoyed the sun and beach. Later, Dad, an early adopter of electronic technology, also kept in touch through social media and was entertained by jokes sent by email.
Andrew is survived by daughter Luanne (Dan), grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and brother John (Ruth).
Grandpa/Gigi/Great-grandpa loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He taught his grandchildren many life skills including how to fix things, took them on trips, and helped them with activities. He smiled from ear to ear when he received visits from family and was eager to get updates on how everyone was doing. Grandchildren: Jesse (Magdalena), Ariston (Nycolle), and Shayne (Rochelle). Andrew was also enamoured with his Great-grandchildren: Theano, Klaine, and Esmé Sirota.
