Arthur Joseph Marcotte

January 9, 1922 — September 12, 2024

A life well lived; our dad was a gentle man with a great sense of humor & he could whistle a tune like no other. He was a hardworking man, generous, strong in his faith & was always willing to help others. We will always hold dear the many years working the land alongside our father & the delicious meals brought out to the field during harvest time by our mother.

Dad loved to bake & cook his special pies, cakes & cabbage rolls to name a few of his delights. He also barbecued many roast beefs over the years for the Torquay July 1st celebrations, a true labor of love. That barbecue sauce had to be just right!

He enjoyed fishing & deer hunting. Dad was a big fan of the Blues Jays & loved to watch a good curling game. A good game of cards was often on the table, Smear comes to mind. He enjoyed gardening & a good cup of coffee every morning at the local cafe.

Arthur is survived by his loving family; beloved wife of over 70 years Inis (Waldal) Marcotte; children, Nancie (Robin) Cote, James Marcotte (Kathy Pidskalny); grandchildren, Dallas Cote, Devin Cote, Derek Cote, Desiree Marcotte, Lacee Marcotte & Jaelee Marcotte; 4 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Joseph Sr. & Marie Marcotte; siblings, Arsene, Clara, Cecile, Joseph Jr., Louis, Geard, Irene, George, Ernest & Aurore.

Dad’s big heart & humble, loving nature drew many family & friends to our home over the years. He will forever live in our hearts & be missed beyond measure.
