Barbara was predeceased by her adopted parents Emile and Gilbertte Brassard, her biological mother Alice Laliberte, her adopted siblings Denise, Roland and Paul and her son-in-law, Zynoviy Dublanica.

Barbara, also known as Anne growing up, and Barbie, lovingly by close friends, was born in North Battleford, SK on January 20, 1956. After moving to Saskatoon in 1970, she took her first job as a housekeeper at the Capri Hotel and spent the next 50 + years in the cleaning industry, working in a variety of roles from the hotel industry to commercial cleaning and owning her own residential cleaning business. She has spent the last 9 years working out of the Airport as Account Director for Dexterra. Barbara happily married her soul mate Donna in 2007 and has been living out her best life since, having been able to visit Hawaii, Montreal, and even got to see her favourite team, the Vancouver Canucks play live in Vancouver from Rogers Arena in 2020, just before the pandemic. Barbara also liked to spend her time cooking (especially her specialty homemade Fig N’ Pig Pizza), going to live theatre, trying new restaurants, and most of all, babysitting her grandbaby Everett.

As a single mother, Barbara worked hard to provide for her daughters and taught by example, the true meaning of strength and perseverance as her battle with Crohn’s most her adult life made things difficult at times. Barbara has inspired and touched the lives of many over the years with her compassion, caring, kindness and wisdom. She will be forever remembered for her fun-loving, wacky sense of humour, her warmth and her smile, but most of all, her fierce love for her family.

Flowers may be sent to the funeral home directly or donations may be made to the SPCA, a cause very near and dear to Barbara’s heart. If you are attending, the family is encouraging you to wear your favourite yellow piece of clothing, as this was Barbara’s favourite colour.
