Bernard (Ben) Doerksen

September 8, 1943 — October 25, 2023

Ben went to be with his Lord and Saviour on October 25, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Carrot River, Saskatchewan.

Ben enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He loved going out for coffee and visiting. One of his favourite past times was having company especially his family.

Ben enjoyed operating machinery and heavy equipment while working on road construction. Most of all, he enjoyed trucking. He was really good at what he did.

When he was younger, Ben spent a lot of time working outdoors and hunting and would often reminisce about those good times. Ben’s fondest memories included hunting and working in the bush and going for drives. He loved to travel with Mary and they went on several long trips together. In recent years drives with Mary often involved looking for geese.

He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Mary, of 31 years, his children John (Lynn) Brenda (Gary Pepin), Kim, Helen (Ray Olfert), Heather (John Friesen). Grandchildren including Amy, Rachel, Vivian, and Sarah Pepin, and Tabitha, Kelton, and Shyla Olfert, and Sarah and Micah Friesen, and great Grandchildren, David and Jonathan, Josiah, and Elizabeth.

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023, 3:00 p.m., at Osler Mission Chapel, 110 6th Avenue, Osler, SK. Interment to follow.

The service will be available live or on replay at https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/81337
