Bernice Guenther

September 16, 1941 — March 21, 2024

Elsie Bernice Guenther (nee Hollier) passed away suddenly on March 21, 2024, at the age of 82. She was born in Quill Lake, SK, and lived there until the family moved to Saskatoon in 1951. There she attended Buena Vista School and Nutana Collegiate.

Her first job was an usherette at the Broadway Theatre. Then, she worked for the Saskatoon News Agency as a cashier for 7 years. In 1966, Bernice married Bill Guenther. They lived in Saskatoon, had two daughters, and were married 50 years before his passing. During that time, Bernice raised a family; worked part-time at Canada Post, Sears, and numerous elections; and lovingly and faithfully attended church.

She was predeceased by her husband Bill; her parents Dorothy and Leslie Hollier; siblings Dick, Bob, Beatrice, and Raymond. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Laurie (Antony) Nemetchek and Jenny Seager; grandchildren Bradley (Claire), Tyler, and Danielle Nemetchek, and Rachel (Emmett) Walker; Elysia and Nicholas Seager; great grandchildren Ezra, Dawson, Charlotte, Bentley, and Autumn; sisters-in-law Leona (Dick) Hollier, Tina (Harry) Barrett, Nettie Pozniak, and Yvonne Guenther; and many nieces and nephews.

Thank you to the staff at the Bentley for the care given to Bernice over the past few years. Also, thank you to Martens Funeral Home for their help and support during this time.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, 2pm, at Faith Baptist Church, 1601 Munroe Ave. S, Saskatoon.

Martens Warman Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care and arrangements for Bernice Guenther.
