Clara passed away peacefully at Oliver Lodge in Saskatoon, February 16, 2024.
Clara was 85 years old, born March 8 1938.
She loved sewing, baking, camping, dancing and travel.
She joined the Armed Forces right out of high school, and was quickly moved to a base in Ottawa where she was a parachute packer.
It was there that she met her husband John Mitchell. Together they had 3 daughter’s Debbie, Nancy and Mary-Lou.
It was during that time she went to Cosmetology school and became a Hairdresser. Clara loved doing hair and visiting with her clients as the family moved around to Air Force Bases in Ottawa, Trenton, Frankfort, North Bay, Germany, Moose Jaw.
After John retired from service the family settled in Regina where she owned two hair salons (Clara’s Hair Affair).
On vacations it was always camping no matter if it was just outside Regina at Sherwood Forest, travelling to North Battleford, Saskatoon or down east to Powasan to visit her kids and grandkids.
In 2017 she moved to Saskatoon to join her husband at Oliver Lodge, where she enjoyed many activities including singing and going to church.
She is survived by:
Daughters: Nancy Cavalle Olson (Alvin) and Mary-Lou Mitchell.
Granddaughters: Caval Lynn Olson LePage (Alan), Katrina Alicia Rans (Jeremy).
Grandsons: Brian Johnathon Byers, Patrick Jameson Byers (Kiera), Brandon Corey Byers (Stefanie), Michael Mitchell, Kristopher Mitchell.
Great grandchildren: Ethan Lars, Arielle Cavalle, Charlotte Blake, Freya, Kale, Tayla, Bella Patience, Bentley Brain, Kameron David Earl.
Clara was predeceased by her husband John Mitchell and daughter Deborah Anne Mitchell.
