Dale Garry Granrude
August 4, 1944 – April 22, 2023

Dale passed away with family by his side in Prince Albert at the age of 78.  He is the youngest son of Sverre & Judith Granrude of Weldon.

Dale was born and raised in the Weldon area.  He was not much for school and left to start working on the farm alongside his dad.  In the winters he worked at the Kinsmen rink in Prince Albert for his brother Edmund.  He married Sharon Loden in 1969 and they had three children.  They raised their children on the Weldon Creek Farm where they farmed several acres as well as he was a mechanic at C & D Service in Kinistino.  In the late 90’s, Dale moved to Prince Albert and worked at Econo Lumber and then for the Commissionaires before he retired in 2018.  Dale was quick witted and loved a good time.  His favorite pastimes were going for drives on a sunny day, camping at Anglin Lake & Emma Lake, planting flowers, and building small furniture.  He was a great dancer and would dance the night away at Liberty Hall or at the singles night in Prince Albert.

He leaves to morn his children and their families, Gale, Kevin, and Garry and the mother of his children Sharon.  He was predeceased by his parents Sam & Judith, brothers, Bob, Ed, and Orval and his grandson Mason.

We would like to thank the staff at Mont St Joseph for the care and compassion given to dad in his final year.  It was comforting to the family knowing he was well taken care of even when he was difficult at times.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Dales memory can be made to Rose Hill Cemetery Cooperative, Box 271, Weldon, SK  S0J 3A0 or by E-transfer to donate2rosehill@gmail.com
