Dan Nahachewsky of Grandora, SK. passed away peacefully at 62 years old, on December 27, 2024.
Dan will be remembered by many for his strength and zest for life.
Dan was born to Gus (Jean) and Viola in Roblin, MB. He grew up in many places; the Pas, Lynn Lake, and Vanscoy, alongside his brother Darryl (Parissa). He made his home in Grandora with his wife Laura, where they raised their children Jill (Scott), and Brian.
The family enjoyed camping, fishing, snowboarding, golfing, playing catch, and playing games. Dan coached Brian in both hockey and ball while growing up.
Dan started work at the potash mine at the age of 18 until his retirement. He made many great life-long friends while working there. He was involved with the mine rescue, the annual Father’s Day and fishing derby, and Nutrien’s Childrens’ Fair. After 25 years of service, he went back to school to become a journeyman electrician, a course he passed with honours.
Dan’s spare time was always full, he had many hobbies. He loved fishing, hunting, hockey, ball, archery, travelling, camping, bike riding, walking Tucker, kayaking, playing cards, and painting.
In his later years, he shined with pride and love when he became a Papa to his favorite grandchild Lola. He often was travelling to spend time with her and cheer her on in her sports.
The family would like to extend a thank you to all the family and friends who visited and supported us through this journey; as well as a thank you to St. Paul’s Palliative Care Unit.
