David Joseph Nelubowich

June 17, 1955 — September 13, 2024

David Nelubowich, of Saskatoon, SK, passed away peacefully at St. Paul's Hospital Palliative Care Unit, surrounded by the love of family and friends, after a short battle with cancer.

Dave was born in Shaunavon, spent his early years in Consul and highschool years in Eastend. As a teen, he excelled academically and in various sports, particularly basketball, football, curling, and track & field. However, his passion was golf. From a young age, countless hours spent on the Streambank golf course in Eastend nurtured his love for the game. An accomplished golfer, Dave participated in many local tournaments, including the annual Lobstick Tournament in Waskesiu, where he consistently challenged for top of his flight. Dave enjoyed travelling with his friends and brother to many wonderful places to golf, including Australia, Utah, Palm Springs, and PEI. He spent recent summers golfing with his good friend, Tim Hargraves.

Dave loved watching sports, and was a diehard Roughriders fan, always wearing his Riders apparel with pride. Dave had a special affection for animals, especially his beloved cats, Socks and Reddy, who brought him much joy throughout his life.

Dave was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Adolphe Nelubowich. He will be dearly missed by his daughter, Elyse (Cameron Klein), Elyse's mother, Betty, his brother Ralph (Laura), niece, Sarah, nephew, Adam (Nicole), and his great nieces and nephews.

A memorial reception to celebrate David's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Eastend Memorial Hall Tea Room, 135 Oak Ave N, Eastend, SK.

If desired, donations may be made in Dave's honor to the St. Paul's Hospital Palliative Care Unit or the Saskatoon SPCA.

Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with Dave's care.
