On September 29, 2024 Dennis Schell left this earthly world to join the heavenly world. He was predeceased by his parents Simon Schell and Elizabeth (Forbes) Schell; bothers Don, Larry, Garry and sister Gloria; nephew Garry. Dennis loved his children, talked about them often and confident that he is watching over them now from heaven around the clock; Candice, Michael, Kevin, Colleen and Lenny…as well as nephews, nieces and grandchildren.
Dennis was a very unique individual, he had his way of doing things and if you ever thought differently you’d hear about it (hahaha). He was intelligent and was extremely sharp with numbers and finance. You couldn’t add or subtract with a calculator faster than he could in his head.
He was very thrifty and could tell you the price of every thing in a grocery store right to the penny. If it wasn’t on sale &/or he didn’t have a coupon for it, he wouldn’t buy it.
Dennis worked hard, always with a hop in his step and got things done. He grew up with the love of hockey, excelling in the knowledge of the game and the skills required to play. Dennis was an out standing goal tender on the ice and the lacrosse field. He was even noticed by a scout from the University of Notre Dame and invited to try out, but sadly he and his family couldn’t afford it.
Dennis furthered his education and graduated at Saskatoon Business College in accounting well as taking courses at Kelsey Institute of Applied Arts and Science in auto-body. He was very mechanically inclined, working on the buses at STC and his own vehicles over the years… as well as talented with automotive refinishing. His plan for retirement was to restore his classic cars, his dream garage was underway, but unfortunately that dream tragically came to an end when he lost his legs. With that said, he found the strength to keep going and persevere. He became active with dabbling in wheelchair floor hockey, tennis, bowling and loved going to the gym. There was no quit in Dennis, he came to accept this new chapter in his life and every day worked hard to become the better version of himself.
Dennis loved his family and friends. He was fun to be with and a great guy…granted, sometimes would butt heads with those he cared about, wanting the best for them, but also could be stubborn in his ways. He appreciated you like no other and had a heart of gold. Dearly loved by all those who knew him and will be deeply missed by many.
