Dona Lee Schmidt

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Dona Lee Alice Schmidt, late of Saskatoon, SK born August 12th,1946, passed away suddenly April 21st, 2025, at the age of 78 years old.

Dona Lee was born and raised in Cudworth, SK. She was the second oldest child of Helen and Louis Schmidt.

Following high school, Dona Lee ventured away from Cudworth living and working in Saskatoon, Calgary and Edmonton. She worked in various jobs in the area of data entry. Dona Lee returned back to Cudworth to finish out her working years at Schmidt’s Family Agency. Following her retirement, Dona Lee moved back to Saskatoon.

Dona Lee was an animal lover and had many pets growing up. She enjoyed the company of a special cat and dog in her adult years.

Family was everything to Dona Lee. She was close to her parents Helen and Louis, her brother Gary and sister- in- law Donna and especially her youngest brother “Little Louis.” Not having children, her nephew Blake, nieces Sherri and Danielle and their families were like her own.

The cabin at Wakaw Lake was very important to her. She spent many summers enjoying the lake until the passing of “Little Louis.” Spending time at the lake was never the same for her after that.

Dona Lee’s last years were spent at Hyde Park View. She enjoyed playing cards, joking around, attending Happy Hour, and making new friends.

Dona Lee was predeceased by her parents, Helen and Louis, and by her younger brother Louis Jr.

Dona Lee is survived by her brother Gary, sister-in-law Donna, nephew Blake (Denise) Schmidt, Wakaw Lake, and nieces Sherri (Dean) Hendriks, Wakaw Lake, and Danielle (Clayton) Hendriks, Saskatoon. As well as great nieces and great nephews: Brett Schmidt, Edmonton AB, Tyson Schmidt, Weyburn, SK; Cody(Julie Tan) Richardson, Saskatoon, SK, Dakota (Anthony) Stickle, Skylar, Owen, Harlow, Kent, Ohio Jade Richardson, Prince Albert, SK Madison Hendriks ( TJ Forster) Cole, Hayes, Humboldt, SK, Tanner Hendriks, Cudworth, SK; Brandon(Kelsey) Hendriks, Blair, Sadie, Saskatoon, SK and Brook Hendriks Saskatoon, SK. As well as her last surviving uncle Dick (Jean) Roberge, Conway, SC.

A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
