Donald Harold Chappell

It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Harold Chappell announce his passing on January 5, 2025, at the age of 87. Donald was born in Saskatoon at St. Paul’s Hospital on May 25, 1937, and grew up on a farm in Asquith, Saskatchewan.

Donald worked for Brinks and Kindersley Transport for many years, where he was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and professionalism. His calm and soft-spoken manner made him a valued colleague and friend to many. He approached his work with dedication and pride, always focused on getting the job done right, and he earned the respect of everyone he worked with.

In 1989, Donald met Wilma at a Robin’s Doughnuts in Saskatoon. They got engaged a year later and were married in 1991. Together, they shared a life full of love, adventure, and mutual respect.

Donald lived a life full of passion for the things he loved. He was an avid fan of hockey, enjoyed umpiring baseball games, and had a special fondness for animals, particularly his cats Jack and Buddy. He cherished time spent fishing, camping, and attending the rodeo. Donald was also a regular at local coffee shops, where he enjoyed good conversation and the company of friends. His love for travel took him on many adventures, and he was always ready for a new journey.

Donald was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Martha Chappell, and his brothers Cliff, Bruce, Ray, Wilfred, and Doug. He is survived by his wife, Wilma; his two children, Luna (Don) and Todd (Tracy); his two stepdaughters, Gwen (Rob) and Colleen; his grandchildren, Allyson, Mark, Seren, Cameron, and Callie. He will be deeply missed by many other family members and friends who knew and loved him.

A private viewing for immediate family will be held at 11:00 a.m., with all welcome to come and pay respects starting at 12:00 p.m., on Friday, January 10, 2025, in Cherished Memories Funeral Home, 591 Centennial Drive N., Martensville, SK. Donald's Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a small luncheon.
