Donald Thomas Leo Leier (“Mr. Don”), beloved husband of Joanne Leier (Kendall) of Saskatoon, SK, passed away peacefully at Veterans Village, Sherbrooke Centre on November 7th, 2022, at the age of 90 years surrounded by his family.

On August 5th, 2022, Don and Joanne celebrated 65 years of marriage. Don was the loving father of: Leslie (Errol) Fisher, Mark (Arlette) Leier, Todd (Kathy) Leier, Lisa (Steve) Thomson. He will also be dearly missed by his 10 grandchildren: Corey (Katie), Kevin (Jenna), Kenton (Michelle), Matthew (Jessica), Connor (Michelle), Hayley, Rachel, Isabella (Jaxson), Naomi and Samuel and six great-grandchildren Ana, Flynn, Rosalind, Ben, Elliot and Owen.

Don will also be lovingly remembered by his surviving brothers, Edward (Sandra), Tom (Fern), Ken, and Adam (Mardell).

This year, Don received the Ministry of Veterans Affairs commendation for decades of service to the community of Montgomery Place and the lasting legacy of its annual service of Remembrance. To all the amazing people at Veterans Village who made his end of life so peaceful – we thank you.

Cremation has taken place, Donald will be interred by family at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s memory may be made to the Memory Care Unit at Veterans Village, Sherbrooke Centre.  Martens Warman Funeral Home is both honored and privileged to care for Mr. Leier and his arrangements.
