Donald Bradley Sykes passed away peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of December 26. Don led a full, rewarding life and was ready to join his loving wife, Dorothy, who had passed away four years earlier.

Don was born on March 5, 1929 in Maymont, Saskatchewan. His childhood years were a study in Canadian prairie history: he rose early to do chores, drove the horses to deliver milk, cut ice from the river for sale to the local townspeople and had the benefit of outdoor plumbing well into the 1950s. He had appropriately rowdy teenage years, roving far and wide with friends to wreak, what would now be considered innocent havoc, on the surrounding populace, (Ever had your outhouse moved in the middle of the night?).

Don had a long and successful career as a Branch Manager for CIBC. His career had him living in Nelson, Moose Jaw, Radville, Swift Current, Regina and finally Saskatoon, where he retired. Don married the love of his life, Dorothy Grace Dodge in 1954. They built a wonderful life together spending the bulk of their retirement winters in Arizona hiking, dancing and exploring.

Don is survived by his loving children Donna, Patricia and Brad, their respective spouses, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Special thanks to the management and staff of Sherbrooke Community Center for their wonderful care of Don through his final years.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to Sherbrooke Community Centre.
