Our family is saddened to announce the passing of our beautiful mother, Donna. Donna passed peacefully at home, with her loving children and family by her bedside. She passed after a brief battle with cancer, with dignity and respect, through the MAID program.
Donna leaves to mourn her, daughter Casey Schoffer (Ben Chantlier), and son Tyler Schoffer (Alicia Weber and her daughter Maecy), along with her three grandchildren Colby, Caden and Connor.
Left to cherish her memory are her siblings Shirley Markel (Murray), Ken Mackey and Barb Mackey, brother-in-law Carey Schoffer, sister-in-law Linda Schoffer and several nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Donna left her home in Moose Jaw at a young age to follow her adventurous spirit. She lived in Vancouver for 10 years, mostly working at B.C. Telephones. She returned back to live in Saskatchewan where she re-connected with her life partner Les Schoffer. Donna and Les were married for 25 years, until his untimely passing in 2010. The bulk of Donna’s career was at SaskTel (Saskatoon), where she retired from after thirty years. She always enjoyed the work and the people she worked with.
Donna forged many life-long friendships. Those who know her recognized the special “spark” and love of life she had.
In later years, Donna enjoyed many winter trips to Mexico, Arizona and Vancouver. She also enjoyed caring for her yard, the sunshine, and loved taking summer trips to the lakes.
She will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at the Eagle’s Club in Moose Jaw on October 29, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of other tributes, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with the care and arrangements for Donna Schoffer.
