We mourn the loss of our dear Mom but celebrate the life she lived.

Dora Rempel, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, & great-grandmother passed away peacefully with Henry at her side on November 22, 2024.

Dora Maggie Rempel was born to Jacob and Margaretha Bergen (nee Penner) on  June 15, 1935, in Belbutte, Sk, the youngest of five children.

Dora attended Bible School in Rosthern and soon met Henry. When Henry was first introduced to Dora it was winter, and she wore a beautiful white coat. Dad thought she looked like an angel! They were married in Rosthern on April 4th, 1954. They were married for over 70 years. There was never a more devoted husband than Henry.

Dora was a nurturer. They soon started their family Lois, Reg, Lynette and Sheldon.

Dora was a leader. She had a love for children and gave of her time as a Sunday-School teacher, VBS teacher, Pioneer Girls club leader and Camp Leader. She also led Ladies Bible studies.

Dora was a creator. She enjoyed watercolor and acrylic painting, decorating their homes, playing hymns on the piano and sewing. She sewed many a dress for herself, her daughters and their barbie dolls, sisters and nieces. She especially enjoyed crafting beautiful porcelain dolls.

Dora was a traveller. Many family vacations were taken to Alberta and Saskatchewan to visit family. Dora and Henry also travelled to Palm Springs, Hawaii, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Columbia and Argentina in South America.

Dora was a carer. Dora and Henry welcomed many into their home over the years including family and friends. They had young university students live with them who needed a home away from home. One year it was a houseful of nurses, the next year it was engineering students. Another year we had a young boy live with us while he attended the School for the Deaf. Dora and Henry were also houseparents to a dorm full of girls at Timber Bay. Dora's love for children extended to a house full of toddlers that she babysat while their Mama's worked. They called her Grandma. Many others called her Grandma too. Including her chosen grandchildren whom they cared for as their own.

Dora was a mentor. She always had a big heart to care, love and nurture and guide those who came to her, including some special nieces.

Dora was a hard worker. In between opening and sharing her home with others she worked many jobs. Woolco, Sears, she also worked at Central Haven and Oliver Lodge. As well as the night shift at the University Hospital.

Dora was a courageous fighter and survivor, having had breast cancer and then in later years fighting off the impact of Parkinson's and dementia.

Dora was a sharer. Not only did she share her home and love for others, she shared the love of Jesus with those that came to her in need.

Dora is survived by her beloved husband, Henry; her loving children, Lois (Gordon) Good, Reg (Marianne) Rempel, Lynette (Rick) Bushman and Sheldon Rempel. She will lovingly be remembered by her five grandchildren, Shawn (Amy), Andrea (Cam), Jason (Erica), Crystal (Steve), Julianne (Thomas); adopted grandchildren Shawna, Conrad, Stefanie, Shannon, Tyrone, Terrance; Six great-grandchildren, Elijah, Quinn, Samuel, Ezra, Adalia, and Cormac. As well as two sisters-in-law Dell Bergen and Margaret Wieler and numerous nieces and nephews.
