It is with great love and respect that we mark the passing of Doctor Reverend Steve Skoworodko on Feb. 9, 2023. Steve was born in Blueberry, Alberta, on Sept. 24, 1929, where he grew up with his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Steve left for Bible School in Saskatoon in the early fifties, where he met the love of his life, Martha. They were married on Nov. 4, 1954, and began their career with a missionary posting in Meadow Lake, North Battleford and a church in Hyas, finally settling in Saskatoon at Fairmont Baptist Church, where he ministered for 35 years.

Steve and Martha’s 62 years of marriage brought them their sons Lawrence (Marlene) and Dennis (Karen); grandchildren Steve (Michelle) and Andrea; their great-grandchildren Jackson, Tyler, Noah, and Danika.

Steve was very active and well respected on numerous Baptist Church boards, as well as being very involved in humanitarian help to the Ukraine. Steve and Martha travelled many times to the Ukraine where he was very much appreciated.

In addition to his loving wife, Martha, Steve was predeceased by his sisters Anita (Charlie) Dolhan, Olga (Ted) Vansil, Kate (Sam) Bilozer and brothers Mike (Anita), John (Marion), as well as daughter-in-law Wanda.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday Feb. 14, 2023, at 11:00 am at Fairmont Baptist Church, 333 Fairmont Drive, Saskatoon, SK.

Martens Warman Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Rev. Skoworodko.
