Subscription Update Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edwin Gerald Peters, on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at RUH in Saskatoon, SK. Edwin was 85 years of age.

Edwin was born in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan on the homestead of Henry and Katherine Peters (nee Wiens), December 18, 1936.Dad attended a small country school until grade 7, in which the family relocated to B.C. There as a small boy, he started his working career by picking apples in an orchard. After 3 years the family relocated back to Saskatchewan on the farm. While dad worked for the RM of Merriott is when he met his sweetheart of 58 years, Della (Lengyel)Peters. They then purchased their farm in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan where they farmed from 1972-2006, which they then made a huge decision to retire and move to the town of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan.

Edwin will be fondly and deeply missed by his wife of 58 years, and his sons and their families: Bradley (Lori) Peters, Nolan (Tracy) Peters, Grandchildren: Kiersten (Branden) Serblowski, Jorden (Cody) Hergott, Kiana Peter & Tyler Rohlicek, Matthew Peters, Ryan Peters, (Leo & Victor), Great-Grandchildren: Sophia, Blake, Nina, Karver, Hayvyn, Lyla, Wyatt, Paisley, and Nate.

Edwin will be sadly missed by his surviving siblings, sister Esther (Dennis) Froese, Brother-in-law John Ens, Sister-in-law Mary Peters, and Brother-in-law Don (Bev) Lengyel, all of Saskatoon. Sister-in-law Betty Lengyel of Warman, Sister Marlene Meldrum of Clive, Alberta, Brother-in-law Charles (Dores) of Leduc, Alberta.

Edwin was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Katherine (Wiens) Peters, Brother Alvin, Sister Irene, Brothers-in-law Walter, John, Delmar Lengyel, and Allen Meldrum.

A celebration of Edwin’s life will occur on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 1:00 pm. The service will be live-streamed for those who wish to attend virtually at the following link https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/58040

You will be sadly missed by everyone but we all know you are in a better place because God has taken you Home with Him and we will all join you one day in Paradise!
