With heartfelt sadness, we announce that Elizabeth Giesbrecht (nee Ens), born July 7, 1945, passed away in the comfort of her home, on Tuesday, September 5, 2023.

She was predeceased by her parents Isaac and Elizabeth Ens, her husband Jake, and one brother Isaac Ens.

Survived by her children Don (Erdine) Giesbrecht, Darryl (Jody) Giesbrecht, and Debbie (Lionel) Richard, and her seven grandchildren and spouses, and five great-grandchildren.

Mom will always be remembered as fun-loving and outgoing. Her love of music and dancing is well-known by all. She was a strong matriarch, always holding the family together. She also had many close friends in her building, which she enjoyed many conversations with on the lanai out back.

Mom had a short courageous battle with lung cancer and COPD. She will be remembered for her love of Elvis Presley’s “Love Me Tender”, and she will always remain our guardian angel, alongside Dad in Heaven.

To honour Elizabeth’s wishes, there will be no memorial service held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Elizabeth’s memory can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, by calling 1-800-268-8874.
