Son Dale & his partner Leanne (as well as former daughter-inlaw Tasia) and his children: Brittany (Darren), Brooklyn (Evan), Lexie (Matt) and Ana (Lathan). Daughter LeeAnn & husband Trent and their children: Tyler (Leah), Miranda (Kaiden) and Riley (Chayse). George, always known and loved dearly as Papa, is also survived by 8 great grandchildren: Noa, Farrah and Cash Keller, George, Nikolas and Hazel Steinbach, Vienna McKinnon and Rose Keller. He leaves to mourn his sister Josie Fitterer, brother Albert Steinback, as well as two other half siblings: Mike Guckert and Frank Guckert.
George was an extremely hard worker and an excellent provider who owned and operated his own feed truck company. His true passion in life was family and he always went above and beyond to make each person feel so loved and special. He was happiest when following his Grandchildren around the globe watching them play hockey and ringette or spending time at the lake with his family. He loved to fish and many fish derbies were won! He also loved to hunt and enjoyed many special hunting trips with friends and family. He had an amazing sense of humor that he shared with everyone and had a smile that would light up any room and warm every heart.
The impact he had on people who knew and loved him will be felt for many years to come. Dad, we know you will continue to guide us on our journeys in life and one day we will meet again. We love you beyond words and you will always be our hero!
The family would like to thank the staff at Oliver lodge on the first and second floor for the many years of wonderful care. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in the Spring with more information to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Dementia and Alzheimer research in George's name.
Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with George's care and arrangements.
