Gilles Ivan Bergeron, aged 54, of Saskatoon (SK), passed away suddenly on July 15, 2024 at his home.
Left to mourn Gilles’ memory are his two daughters — Brielle (Tanner) and Aléna; his sister, Jacinthe (Maurizio); his nephew, Luca; numerous members of Gilles’ large, extended family; many old and new friends, and colleagues.
Gilles is preceded in death by his parents (Solange and Eric); his grandparents; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins from both sides of his family.
Those who knew Gilles, particularly during his teen and young-adult years, will remember his musical talents and the passion he had for his drum kit — drumming was a channel for his musical expression and his physical energy. He was also athletic, and enjoyed baseball and BMX-biking; later, volleyball and golf would become a couple of his favorite sports. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether in his back yard or lakeside. His daughters remember his sense of humour and the way he lit up a room with his engaging personality. He always supported their creative ideas of making a bird house, trying new recipes, playing a new sport and more.
Though Gilles has left this world, his spirit will remain alive in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
A private grave-side gathering to honour Gilles’ life is being envisioned by the family. Interment will occur at Woodlawn Cemetery, in Saskatoon.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Martens Warman Funeral Home, for the compassionate and professional services provided during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers or any other gesture of condolence, the family asks that a donation in Gilles’ memory be considered to Jumpstart charity or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada at:
