Gordon Zacharias

January 19, 1963 — March 1, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear brother Gord the morning of March 1, 2025.

Gord was born January 19, 1963 to parents Frank and Eva (Dyck) Zacharias.  He was the sixth of seven children born into the family.  Gord spent his childhood on the family farm at Pike Lake.  His early years were filled with joy of growing up with his brothers and sister in rural Saskatchewan and experiencing the freedom and blessing that can be.  He attended school in both Pike Lake and Delisle where he made many friendships that lasted his whole life.

After leaving school Gord tried his hand at many jobs.  From a short time at Intercon and working late shifts at the Night Owl Convenience store, to driving school bus, he did it all.  He spent the last 23 years of his life doing janitorial work around Saskatoon right up to the time of his passing.

Gord enjoyed spending time outdoors.  He especially liked the lazy summer days fishing in the river.  He enjoyed a game of golf and faithfully attended the yearly Family Golf Tournament, even scoring a few trophies sometimes!  You could easily spot Gord, tucked away in a small single tent among the trailers and fifth wheels!  He also enjoyed getting together with his family and all the nieces and nephews for holidays and special occasions.  What he maybe loved  most of all was a good party with his friends and family.  If there was a chance to share a few drinks and a few laughs Gord would be there!  He will be missed. Or Whatever!

Gord was predeceased by his father Frank Zacharias, his sister, Joan Zacharias, and his brother-in-law, Bernie Sliva.  He is survived by his mother Eva Zacharias, brother Don (Judy) Zacharias, sister Peggy Sliva, brother Wayne Zacharias, brother Jeff (Deirdre) Zacharias, brother Stan Zacharias, many nieces and nephews and even more great nieces and nephews.

The family is planning a celebration of Gord's life at a later date to be announced.

Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with the care and arrangements for Gord.
