With heartfelt sadness, we announce the passing of Harry Edgar on May 8, 2023, at the age of 103 years.

Harry was born on a family farm, a few miles west of Hepburn, to Peter and Tina Schmidt. Harry was third of eleven children. Harry graduated from Hepburn High School and spent two years studying at Bethany Bible School.

It was there he met Elma Schindel. They were married after a few years. Harry was a loving husband who looked after Elma when she suffered with Alzheimer’s disease.

Harry spent most of his productive years in the Men’s clothing business, at Caswell’s Men’s Wear. At the same time, Harry served as Lay Pastor in Perdue, Biggar, Arlee, Davidson, and Aberdeen. Harry and Elma spent 25 years in this type of ministry and enjoyed it immensely.

Harry was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife of 64 years and six siblings. He leaves to mourn, Gerald (Sophie), Donna (Merle), Doreen (Elwood), eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Harry will be missed by Elma’s extended family.

A Funeral Service will be held Saturday. May 13, 2023, 2:00 p.m., at Forest Grove Community Church, 502 Webster Street, Saskatoon, SK.
