Helen was born in Big River, Saskatchewan. She was the fourth child of Jacob and Agnes Miller.
Helen was a happy hard worker on the farm. Chicks and kittens were her favorites. She had a happy childhood.
In 1973, she moved with Agnes and Jacob to Saskatoon. Helen's life changed when she started to work for Cosmo Industries. She rode the bus and enjoyed working in the recycling department and the cafeteria. She enjoyed being paid to work.
She enjoyed bowling, puzzles and colouring. Helen especially loved Camp Easter Seal and road trips with family.
In 2011, Helen joined the Elmwood family where she flourished. Our family is incredibly grateful to the Elmwood management and staff for the supportive, kind, and vibrant homes they made for Helen. The staff at 1625 Preston St. were very supportive in Helen's last days.
Helen was well-loved by her parents, her sisters Ann and Betty (Mel), her brothers Corny and Danny (Laura), and her foster brother Terry. She loved and took great delight in her five nieces and nephews—Anna, Douglas, Joyce, Janice and Stanley. She left a hole in our family and an impression on our hearts and lives that will never be forgotten.
Donations in Helen's memory can be made to Elmwood Residences Saskatoon. 2012 Arlington Ave. Saskatoon. SK.
Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with Helen's care.
