It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our cherished Mother, Gran, and Nana, Hella (Neudorf) Banman. Hella was born on July 28, 1934 near Osler, SK to John and Maria (Funk) Neudorf. After a courageous battle with cancer, Hella peacefully passed away with her children by her side on September 19, 2021 in palliative care at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. Hella was predeceased by her loving husband, Henry Banman, her parents, her siblings, and other extended family. Left to mourn Hella’s passing are her children: Jennifer Banman, Joanne Banman, and Brad (Cheryl) Banman; grandchildren: Christi Friesen, Clint (Jen) Friesen, Cheyenne Friesen, Jessica (Christopher) Morgan, Lukas (Danelle) Banman, and Hannah Banman (Blaine Loewen). Hella was proudly called “Nana” by her four beautiful great-grandchildren: Lily and Rylie Friesen, Adley Banman, and Myles Loewen. Hella will also be greatly missed by countless other family and many friends.

Hella was a very hardworking and talented woman. She took on many commitments, within the community, her family and among her friends, always with a willing spirit and great pride.  Hella was an impeccable seamstress, a marvellous baker, and loved telling stories. Whatever Hella did, she did with her whole heart, to the best of her ability and always to completion. Her word was good. Hella was always a source of encouragement and wisdom to everyone around her, especially her family, whom she loved so deeply. Hella thrived in life because of her faith and devotedly lived out what she believed, being an example to everyone around her. She will be missed, but never forgotten.

Hella’s family would like to say a special thank you to the nurses and doctors who took such wonderful care of her during her short stay in palliative care at St. Paul’s Hospital, the doctors at Legends Medical Clinic in Warman who went above and beyond to care for her as a walk-in patient, the Osler First Responders, and to Martens Warman Funeral Home for all of the funeral arrangements.

There will be a viewing at Martens Warman Funeral Home, 402 Central Street West in Warman, SK on Thursday, September 23 from 7:30PM-8:30PM. Hella’s funeral will be held on Friday, September 24 at 2:00PM at Cornerstone Church, 315 Lenore Drive in Saskatoon, SK.
