Born in 1937 in Tolkmeit, Prussia, Herbert arrived in Canada to begin a new life in 1960. Many memories were made with family where time was shared at Day’s Beach, Jackfish Lake. Herb enjoyed building custom sailboats, picking Saskatoon berries, and working on the family cabin.
Herbert was employed at the University of Saskatchewan from 1971- 1998 and made many friends at the U of S over the years. Keeping in touch with colleagues well after his retirement, he enjoyed meeting his friends for coffee and good conversation. Proud of his Prussian roots and his love for his German heritage, Herb lived a full and rewarding life, his love for his family was steadfast. He will be remembered for his easy-going approach to life, unique sense of humor and appreciation for the value of hard work. Herbert will also be remembered for his timeless creations of stained glass, paintings and stonework that adorn his home.
