Hilda Herman, a vibrant soul and loving matriarch, was born on September 30, 1955, and peacefully joined the stars on October 23, 2024. Throughout her life, Hilda nurtured countless relationships that shaped her family into a close-knit and loving community. Her extraordinary spirit and kindness will forever resonate in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known herHilda shared a fulfilling life with her common-law partner, Edward Janvier, alongside whom she created a legacy of love and warmth. As a dedicated mother, she raised her children—Lorna, Kevin, Michelle, Gladys, Cliff, Kirby, Bobby, Desmond, Shelley, and Calvin—with a boundless affection that instilled strength and resilience in each of them. Her family continued to grow and thrive, bringing forth 30 cherished grandchildren and 11 beloved great-grandchildren, who all knew Hilda as their unwavering source of guidance and support.
Hilda's deep bonds extended beyond her immediate family. She was a treasured sister to Raymond, Donald, Milton, Scott, Ian, and Miles, and a devoted sister to her living sisters, Annette, Laura, Edwina, Pearl, Bonnie, Heidi, Edna, and Tammy. The laughter and memories shared with her siblings brought joy and blessings, weaving a rich tapestry of togetherness that will be cherished for generations to come. Hilda was also a wonderful aunt, embracing her numerous nieces and nephews with open arms.
The loss of her infant child and her beloved parents, Zepherin and Therese Herman, weighed heavily on Hilda’s heart, yet her indomitable spirit shone through her grief. She also mourned the passing of her sister, Nancy Kuntz, and brothers Eddie, Ronnie, Darcy, and Allister, as well as her sister-in-law, Martha Herman. Their memories remained etched in her soul, serving as reminders of love and togetherness that transcended even the most profound losses.
Hilda had special relationships with her granddaughters, Brenaya Janvier and Allaya Moise, who held a particularly special place in her heart. Their bond represented a beautiful continuation of Hilda's legacy, and they, along with her entire family, will carry forward the love and lessons she imparted.

Wake Service will begin Thursday, October 23, 2024 in La Loche, SK. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 28, 2024 at the Our Lady of Visitation Roman Catholic Church in La Loche, SK. Officiated by Fr. Maria Robert, SDM. Interment to follow at the La Loche Cemetery.
