Taylor, Jacinthe (Jaci) Marie
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved chosen daughter Jaci who lost her lengthy battle with her twin demons, mental illness and alcohol, this past week. Although Covid did not directly cause her death, the fear and isolation certainly took their toll. Released from her pain, she will remain in our hearts forever.
Jaci was born in Iqaluit (formerly Frobisher Bay) on Aug 19, 1972. She grew up in Unity, SK, and graduated from Unity Composite High School with a high academic standing, well known for her debating skills when trying to get that extra 1/4 mark on an exam! She continued her education at the University of Saskatchewan completing a B.A. Honors in History, and working on a Masters. She joined the work force, contributing to several organizations such as Health Canada in Ottawa, CHEP, QUINT, Saskatoon Tribal council, and CMHC in Saskatoon.
Predeceased by her grandparents and a cousin, Jaci is survived by: her parents, Don and Lynne Taylor of Saskatoon; her sister Deanna (Ari), Rachel, Jacob, Isaac Joffe of Edmonton; her brother Kevin (LeeAnn) Rebecca (Justin), of Regina, and Ally Taylor of London ON; her brother Joel, Jessie (Dylan), Calliope and Kimi Fry and Josh, River Rose Taylor of Regina, and the mother of his children, Earlene Keewatin of Fort Qu’Appelle, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
In accordance with Jaci’s wishes there will be no service at this time. A family gathering to inter the cremains will take place as Covid restrictions allow. No flowers please. Donations may be directed to the Saskatoon Food Bank, or to Mental Health and Addiction Services Saskatoon, if desired. Arrangements by Marten Warman Funeral Home.
