It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jacob G. Peters. He went to be with his Lord on March 25, 2022, in Saskatoon, at the age of 78 years. Jake was born in the Village of Schonwiesse, on July 14, 1943, to Jacob L. and Maria Peters. As a teenager his family moved to the Village of Neuhorst.
Jake began working on a farm which he really enjoyed. He was known for being a hard worker during his time with Rempel Brothers Construction, until blindness restricted him from continuing.
He lived in his own home, in Saskatoon, for many years. He enjoyed going for walks, listening to baseball on the radio, and visiting with friends and family.
In the spring of 2018, Jake was no longer able to live on his own, and so the family moved him to the Warman Altenheim. Then, in June of 2020, because he needed more care, he was moved to Central Haven in Saskatoon, where he resided until his passing.
He will be dearly missed by his siblings – Mary Ens, Ann Bueckert, Martha Friesen, Ruth (Ed) Peters, Betty (Don) Friesen, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Jacob L. and Maria Peters, and siblings, baby Edna, Marg, Judith, and John.
Jake will be sadly missed and quietly remembered. No longer in our lives, but he will always be in our hearts.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Martens Warman Funeral Home in Warman, Saskatchewan. The Funeral Service will be at the Funeral Home in Warman, 402 Central Street West, on March 30, 2022, at 2:00 p.m.
