On the afternoon of August 14, 2024, James “Jim” David Balfour passed away during a surgical procedure at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. Jim was 66 years old.

Jim was born in Biggar, SK. to Alex and Myrtle Balfour in December 1957. He worked for the Canadian National Railway as a Welder for 37 years. He met his wife, Shelley, in 1976 at a mutual wedding they both attended, and were later married themselves in 1982. Jim bowled on a men’s only league at Fairhaven Bowl and met many great friends along the way. Jim had a goofy sense of humour with his witty jokes and comebacks, he could always put a smile on your face.
