Jim passed peacefully at Hospice at Glengarda at age 84 after a long battle with cancer.
Survived by: wife, Joan (nee Grandberg) married 62 years; 3 children: Darryl (Bronwen), Doug (Ethel) and Joanne (Jason) Schultz; 2 grandchildren: Marin (Kaleb) Schulz and Brendan McRae (Holly Howles); 3 sisters: Elaine Jersak, Joan Mizu and Carol Lee; and brother-in-law Gord (Donna) Grandberg and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased: parents, Anne and Albert McRae; sister Doreen (Duane) Kennedy; infant brother Brian; brothers-in-law Milton Jersak, Joe Mizu and Norman Lee; parents-in-law Nellie and Edwin Grandberg; sister-in-law Carole Weiss.
Born and raised in Outlook, SK, Jim worked as a heavy-duty mechanic, retiring from the Dept. of Highways in 1994. He enjoyed the Western Development Museum and made many lasting friends while volunteering and having coffee!
A special thank you to all the medical personnel who supported him over the years and especially in the past few months; as well as the caring support of all those with Home Care and the Glengarda staff.
There will be no funeral in accordance with his wishes.
