Joyce Grace Heald (nee Fertuck) was born on January 20, 1939 to Fred and Ruby, on the family farm near Arlee, SK. She passed away on March 31, 2021 after a brief battle with cancer.

Growing up, she shared the farm chores with her siblings, attended school at Arlee and enjoyed many friendships through school and church. Her faith was very important to her and she gave her life to Jesus at the age of 12.

She attended nursing school with her sister, Florence, and they graduated in 1959. They worked in Saskatoon for 2 years and Uranium City for a year. Joyce then moved back to Saskatoon where she worked at St Paul’s hospital until 1996.

Joyce met Chuck Heald while vacationing in Hawaii. They were married on July 13, 1986.

Joyce was a favourite auntie to her eleven nieces and nephews. They always looked forward to her visits or to time spent with her at the family farm.

Joyce was predeceased by her husband Chuck, her parents, Fred and Ruby Fertuck, her brother-in-law, Harry Buchkowsky, her grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Left to mourn are her sisters Nancy (Nick) Hawreschuk and Florence Buchkowsky, and her brother, Clarence (Audrey); Chuck’s children, Jeff (Donna) and Jodi (Jack) and their families; her nieces and nephews; her great-nieces and great-nephews and their families; her aunts and cousins.

Due to current restrictions, a private funeral service will be held, with arrangements entrusted to Warman Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Slavic Gospel Association or Fairmont Baptist Church.
