We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Judith (Judy) Hannah (née Crawford) from lung disease on October 2, 2024. Born December 10, 1954, Judy was raised in Saskatoon and graduated with distinction from the College of Home Economics, University of Saskatchewan in 1976.
Judy was a loving wife, mother, and sister, and leaves her husband Dave, her daughters Elisse and Kaiti (Abi), her sister Sheila (Jeff), and sister-in-law Ann. She was predeceased by her parents (Lillian and Dick) and her brother Sandy.
Never afraid to try new things or visit new places, she shared many happy adventures with her family, living in Alberta, British Columbia, Ohio, and the United Arab Emirates, and travelling extensively. From the time she returned to Saskatoon in 2002 to her retirement in 2017, Judy worked at the Saskatchewan Association for Community Living (now Inclusion Saskatchewan), where she played a key role in establishing the Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability program which provides dignified income support for people with disabilities (see https://thestarphoenix.com/life/bridges/dignity-through-independence-judy-hannah-has-fought-for-saskatchewan-people-with-disabilities)
In honour of Judy’s relentlessly practical attitude, we request donations be made to Inclusion Saskatchewan or the Canadian Lung Association in lieu of flowers.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00pm on November 23, 2024 at Louis' Loft, 93 Campus Drive Saskatoon.
