Judith Reimer

January 6, 1938 — February 7, 2025

It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce Judith Reimer passed away peacefully on February 07, 2025, at the age of 87 years.

Judith was born at home (near Neuhorst) on January 06, 1938, to Isaac and Anna Wiebe. She was one of 9 children. Later the family moved about five miles northeast of Osler. Judith grew up herding cattle, milking, gardening and doing other farming chores. She went to LaBassee School near Rheinland and completed Grade 7. When she got older, she took babysitting and housekeeping jobs. If she had to be gone from home for even a few days, she got very homesick.

Judith asked Jesus into her heart as a young teenage girl and was later baptized in the Old Colony Church. She met Diedrich when he and his brother came by to visit the Wiebe girls. Diedrich and Judith were married on September 16, 1962, at her parents’ farm.

Judith lived a life filled with love for Jesus, her husband, and her family. She had a heart of service, and she modelled Galatians 5:22 & 23 in every way. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” As the family grew to include in-laws, Judith always had room in her heart to love one more, and she accepted each of them as if they were her own. She leaves a legacy for her children and grandchildren of a life well-lived, a life lived for the service of her Lord. She lived peacefully, graciously, and quietly, and everyone whose life she touched was blessed to have known her.

Even more special than her children were the grandchildren. Each grandchild was a perfect gift from God, and they were always greeted with hugs and “I love you’s”. There was nothing that gave Judith more joy than another baby to hug and to hold and to be proud of.

These last years, as dementia took hold of Judith, names and memories slowly faded. What remained to the very end, however, was her love for Diedrich, whom she still always needed to sit by her side and hold her hand. When she would see any of her family walk into the room, even on her worst days, her face would light up, and the love that spoke from her eyes was so precious and meaningful to us; she may not always have known which person it was, but she knew she loved them. She was always ready with such a genuine hug and “I love you.”

More importantly, nothing took away Judith’s love for Jesus. As dark as many days were, she would often sing the pieces of her favorite hymns that she remembered. Almost daily, she would ask when Jesus was coming. Her deepest wish was to be with Jesus.

Judith passed peacefully into the presence of her precious Lord and Saviour in the early morning hours of February 07, 2025. Today we celebrate with her; her tears are wiped away; her fear is gone, and she is singing and rejoicing in the presence of Jesus.

Judith is predeceased by her parents, Isaac and Anna Wiebe; son Bobby; granddaughters Madison and Sadie Doerksen; sister Mary; brothers Peter, John, and Julius; as well as numerous other family members and loved ones.

Judith leaves behind her beloved husband Diedrich, who remained her hero to the end; her precious children and their spouses, Nettie (Gordon), Helen (John), Peter (Melinda), Albert (Jessica), Ben (Cora), Dianne (Keith), and Dorothy (Robert); her beloved grandchildren, Sarah (Doug), Niomi (Sam), Jessica (Adam), Brent (Kendra), Raelyn, Kendra (Sheldon), Levi, Sam, Emily (Josh), Jaden (Jaimie), Denaya, Aubrey, Madison, Julian, Dane (Sophia), Brett, Nicole (Brett), Mikayla, Sienna, Chase, and Angel; as well as thirteen great-grandchildren.
