Judy Madeline Bear

July 26, 1964 — March 29, 2024

Judy Madeline Bear was born July 26, 1964, to Magloire (Max) Desjarlais and Yvonne Madeline Desjarlais Nee: Quintal. Her sudden passing was on March 29, 2024. She was the fifth child of eight sisters. She was known to be called Jucim by her late Elders and Judes by her sisters. Judes was the mother of six beautiful children and her pride and joys were her two grandsons, one granddaughter and another granddaughter on the way, forever their kokom angel. She had the utmost love for her community of Flying Dust First Nation, in which she resided and passed.  

Judes achieved a Bachelor of Education in 1988 from the University of Saskatchewan. She dedicated her teaching career to the surrounding First Nations of the Meadow Lake Tribal Council and surrounding areas, with her most recent teaching job at Thunderchild First Natio              

Her second love was cooking, and she catered for numerous events throughout Flying Dust, Meadow Lake, and surrounding communities. Her Bannock (was to die for) and was one of her favorite foods to cook, she had a secret ingredient.                   

Judy had tremendous faith and dedication in the Lord whom she worshiped daily. Her faith in God’s glory will carry her through eternal life as she celebrates with yeshua and our ancestors. Our new angel rejoicing in the presence of God’s glory.              

Psalms 62:5-7 My soul, wait thou only upon God; For my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: He is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is God.

Judy is predeceased by: Grandparents Max Quintal, Sarah Bear, Marie Merasty, Albert Merasty, Rosa Bear, Alex Bear, Harry Desjarlais, Agnes Desjarlais; Parents Magloire (Max) Desjarlais, Yvonne Madeline Desjarlais Nee : Quintal; Sisters Sarah Rose Weeseekase Bear, Eileen Necroche Bear; Brothers in Law Conrad Merasty, Howard Noltcho Aunites: Vicky Quintal, Elsie Quintal, Georgina Quintal Miscarried, baby named Mystery Bear.

Judy left to mourn her loving children and grandchildren Kelly Bear, grandson Darian Blackstar, Faryn Nelson (Kenton Nelson) granddaughter Reah, Keyano Kahpeaysewat (Maya McCloud) granddaughter on the way, Darsana Kahpeaysewat (Autumn Thomas and son Issac) Randall Kahpeaysewat, grandson kokom manzers Skylar, Darius Kahpeaysewat, Stepson, Cecil Jr. Kahpeaysewat; adopted son Tyrell Lewis. She is also survived by her sisters Susan Merasty, Lillian Bear (Richard Jackson), Delores Mckay (Joe McKay), Louise Bear (Quincy Crookedneck), Geraldine Bear (Gerry Cimmerer), Marie Merasty, Shelly Merasty; Brothers JayBear, Chico Hamburger Buggy, George Merasty (Marla), Brother in law Garry Necroche, numerous nephews, nieces, nosimak ekwa chapanak.

                 
Judes will always be lovingly missed and remembered
as the glue that kept our family together, our sister, the thoughtful and gentle one, matriarch to her children, has left this world. Rest in Peace Judes, until we meet again at heavens gate. Forever we will hold you in our hearts.  ~ Your Sisters 

Wake Services will begin on Monday, April 1st, 2024, 3:30 pm., at the Flying Dust Gymnasium, Flying Dust First Nation, SK. 

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2024, 11:00 am., at the Flying Dust Gymnasium.
