Kathleen Pomerleau

August 9, 1947 — May 25, 2021

It is with the deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of Kathy Pomerleau on May 25, 2021 after a courageous battle with Cancer over the last 19 months.

Kathy was predeceased by her parents Dora and Metro Suprovich. She leaves behind her loving husband of 50 years, Marcel Pomerleau of St. Paul, Alberta, her devoted daughter Jacqueline (Michael) Gibbs, and her precious granddaughter Hannah Gibbs, as well as many members of the Pomerleau family who loved her dearly.

Kathy was born and raised in Bonnyville, Alberta attending school in Glendon. She later went to Pentecostal College in Edmonton for two years. She took a job at Purity Dairies in Edmonton and then later transferred to Calgary, which would turn into a career as the dairies changed hands and become Palm Dairies. She eventually transferred with Palm Dairies to Saskatoon and stayed with the dairy as it became Beatrice Foods. When the dairy closed, she worked until retirement at the Radisson Hotel, where she met many of her dearest friends.

Kathy was a talented artist who enjoyed drawing, painting, and wood carving. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed canning in the fall. She loved birdwatching and spent many joyful hours caring for her beautiful garden.

Kathy was an amazing, beautiful, and loving person who made friends easily everywhere she went. She was known for her bright smile which lit up the room and her friendly, kind nature. Her charming and positive disposition carried her through life, no matter what troubles she faced. If you were a friend to Kathy, you were a dear friend for life. She and Marcel spent many a happy moment camping and playing cards with friends. She found a special group of ladies in an aquacise class who quickly became very dear friends to her and supported her and Marcel through this terrible battle with cancer. For this we are forever grateful.

Kathy will be deeply missed, eternally loved, and never forgotten.

There will not be a funeral service at this time, but a memorial will be held in one year when the pandemic is behind us, and a proper memorial befitting of this fine lady can be held.
