We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Krista Attfield (Johannesson), on December 4th, 2022, at the age of 43 years.
Krista was born June 5th, 1979, in Wynyard, Saskatchewan to Patti Gudnason and Don Johannesson. She grew up in Guernsey, attended LCHS in Lanigan and went on to the University of Saskatchewan, where she convocated on the Dean’s List in 2001 with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing.
Krista served her community as a nurse in Regina, Saskatoon and surrounding areas. Her passion for helping others found its greatest expression in her work as a charge nurse in the pediatric emergency department at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon.
On May 13th, 2007, Krista received her favorite Mother’s Day gift of all time: her son Nate. Her motherhood was made complete with the blessing of her namesake daughter Abbey Rose, delivered on June 15th, 2010.
Krista’s children were her greatest accomplishment and the beating heart of her world. There is nothing she wouldn’t do for them.
In the summer of 2021, Krista met her match, and the love of her life, Jared Attfield: they have been inseparable ever since. Jared and Krista were married a year later in an intimate ceremony at one of her favorite spots on Fishing Lake.
Krista, Nate, Abbey and Jared made a happy, joyful home in Warman while Krista fought a private, losing battle with renal cell cancer during the last twelve months of her life.
Krista is survived by her mother, her beautiful children, devoted husband and her precious loving family.
A Celebration of Krista’s life will be held on Sunday, December 11th, 2022, at the Brian King Centre, 202 8 Avenue North, Warman, SK., at 2:00 p.m.
Martens Warman Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care and arrangements of Krista.
