Lillian Taylor (nee Seniuk), (and formerly Lazarowich)

February 9, 1926 – February 27, 2023

Lillian Taylor passed away on February 27, 2023, at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon. She was born in Wakaw, Saskatchewan and later moved to Saskatoon, where she lived for the majority of her life. During that time, she married Walter Lazarowich; they then had three wonderful children: Tony (Karen Potter) & (Carmen Prince), Donna (Steve Clackson), and Frances (Bert Ixmeier).

Later in her life she was blessed to meet and marry Harold (Glenn) Taylor, who predeceased her in 2010. They were privileged to be able to share over 3 loving decades together. Mom put raising and guiding her children with Glenn as her first priority; and always had a strong belief that family was everything in life. With that focus, she continued on by also helping out Glenn’s parents and family, while playing a major role in the lives of her grandchildren, whom she absolutely adored. She is sorrowfully missed by those grandchildren: Shayne Lazarowich, Karla (Rob) Duchesne, Michael (Megan) Clackson, Sean Clackson (Iryna Matsiuk), and Kurt Ixmeier who resides in Ontario.

Although Mom was not religious, she had a strong faith that helped sustain her throughout her life. She was a very resilient woman, who also was very proud of her heritage.

Mom was lovingly referred to as Baba by all of her grandchildren, and many of those that knew her. If you were a friend to one of her family members, you were part of “the family”. She was an integral part in the lives of all of her grandchildren, not only as they were growing up, but also as they continued to expand their families. To say that she was a “hands-on” Mother and Baba, that always put her family before herself, is an understatement. Her children and grandchildren were her life!

Thankfully, she was able to spread that intense love for family, as she welcomed Tony and Carmen’s children into her family. Because of that sense of family, she will also be lovingly missed by grandchildren Zandria (Pete) Lawrence, and Vance (Sasha) Ash.

While her family expanded, she became a great-grandmother, which only contributed even more to her life, as she spread her love to her great-grandchildren: Hudson & Jacob Duchesne (sons of Karla and Rob), Maya Clackson (daughter of Sean and Iryna), Alexza & Penny Lawrence (daughters of Zandria and Pete), and Merrick and Nola Ash (children of Vance and Sasha).  Mom would have been thrilled to see her other great-granddaughter that is on the way in the next few days; entering the lives of Sean & Iryna.

She is also survived by, and will be sorrowfully missed by, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Roy and Leone Taylor, and their children. She will be fondly remembered by cousins Dave and Shirl Taylor and their children, and by all who knew her. She also will be remembered and missed by numerous nephews, nieces, and friends.

Sadly, Mom was predeceased by her son Tony in 2016, his wife Carmen Prince in 2008, and her son-in-law Steve Clackson (Donna’s husband) in 2012.

She was also predeceased by her parents Daniel and Tena Seniuk, and her siblings Sophia (Kotelko), Nick, Mary (Panko), Alex, Peter, Michael, Gus, Ann (Kromm), Dick, and Fred.

Mom, (with Dad), helped so many people as they shared their lives with others, including their many tenants that they had over the years; (even if that help was just an ear to listen, a bit of advice, or a bite of something Mom had made, to share). Her love for others was always evident, as she welcomed people into her home. She will be remembered for so many things including her cooking, baking, knitting/crocheting, sharing, and loving warmth. She was a very loving and kind mother and grandmother; and she always enjoyed helping others; it was like it was in her blood; it came naturally to her.

She touched so many people and seemed to become “the Universal Baba”; and we have all been so blessed to have had such an incredible Mom, Baba, matriarch, and friend in our lives.  She somehow made us all feel a little stronger, safer, and more resilient in this world; and definitely made it a better place!  We are all the better for having known her. She will continue to live on forever in the hearts of all she touched.

Rest in peace now Baba; and enjoy being with all those that have already passed and are up there waiting for you. Thank you for being our new Guardian Angel.

In her latter years, Mom resided at the Porteous Lodge Retirement Home in Saskatoon. We would like to extend to the nursing staff, our sincere thanks for all of the care, dedication and love that they showed Mom.  It is sincerely appreciated!
