Marguerite Benson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marguerite Benson.

Predeceased by her parents Arnold and Olive Wilmut, her brother Don, and her sons Mark and Bob Benson.

Marguerite leaves behind her 3 children, daughters Debbie(Ralph Hope), Red Deer, AB. Marcia (Dale Turner) Martensville, and son Jeff(Mary Benson) Prince Albert, SK. Daughters-in-laws Debbie Benson, Saskatoon, SK, and Wendy Benson, Winfield AB. She has 10 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great grandchild. Marguerite cherished all the special family gatherings over the years. Her family was most important to her.

Marguerite was born in Purdue, SK. Her family moved to Saskatoon when she was 12 years old. She met and married Merv Benson, and they raised their family on Bell Crescent. Marguerite most loved the family summer cottage at Emma Lake. Many cherished memories of summer vacations and family Christmas’s at the cottage. Later, she built a cottage at Big River on Cowan River. She enjoyed the fishing and gatherings with friends and family. Marguerite loved the peace of being at the lake and outdoors. She tended her plants, little garden plots and loved the calming songs of the birds.

She was a caring, loving mother and grandmother, and friend to so many. Marguerite will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.

Family wishes to express our gratitude for the compassionate care and to the wonderful staff at the Warman Mennonite Care Home.

The family wishes to have a private gathering to celebrate their mother. In lieu of flowers, it would be gratefully appreciated if you would consider a donation in Marguerite's name to the Warman Mennonite Care Home.
