With heartfelt sadness, we announce that our loving mother, Maria Niessen, passed away peacefully on the morning of Saturday, January 15th, 2022, at the age of 93 years.
She was born to Jacob and Margaret Teichroeb on February 9, 1928, the 3rd of 14 children.
Maria married William Niessen on June 26, 1948. They were blessed with 9 children. Mom and Dad shared life’s joys and sorrows for 54 years, until Dad passed away in 2002.
Mom had a very busy life raising their children. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and in her spare time, drawing flowers, birds, and nature. She was also a great cook.
She leaves to mourn, her children, James (Linda), Margaret (Peter) Danabassis, Ann Adrian, Joe (Kathy), Edna Wiebe, Irene Niessen, Walter (Sharon), June (Mark) Ens, Noah (Sandra), 22 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchilren and 6 siblings.
She was predeceased by her husband William, her parents, 7 siblings, sons-in-law Ben Adrian and Peter Wiebe and granddaughter Amy Niessen.
The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to St. Joseph’s nursing home in Saskatoon for giving our mother such loving care
A Viewing will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 7-9 p.m., and a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Martens Warman Chapel. 402 Central Street West, Warman, SK.
