Marilyn Elizabeth Hosaluk

September 29, 1955 — June 8, 2023

Marilyn Elizabeth Hosaluk (Glazebrook), at 67, left her physical body on June 8, 2023 at 11:11 am, after bravely facing her last weeks at Glengarda Hospice, after a one year battle with leukemia.

Marilyn was born on September 29,1955, to George & Lily Glazebrook in Saskatoon. She married Michael Hosaluk on July 17,1976 and fulfilled her dream of “being a mother” when she was blessed with 4 children whom she cherished; Christie(Darren), Jason(Sarah), Laura(Shawn) and Mark(Jenna). Marilyn dedicated her life to Michael and supported him fully in his career, and she sacrificed all for her family. The love to her children and her family, happily continued with the addition of her grandchildren; Georgia, Dylan, Ella and Owen.

Marilyn had a love for all things living, as she was an avid gardener and animal lover, where Marilyn fully embraced a career in breeding German Shepherds as working police dogs. Marilyn also loved to cook and this is how she showed her love to others through the food and baking she made, as we will never forget her famous chocolate zucchini cake. Marilyn had a true love for adventure and spent many years with Michael and the children camping, fishing and being in nature together. Marilyn was a hands-on kind of woman that was confident and not afraid to get her hands dirty and “fix it” herself, which was one of the many strengths she passed on to her children, as she encouraged them to try themselves no matter what; however, she was also a kind and loving woman that wanted to help all people, and would never turn her back on a person in need. Marilyn had a deep faith and this guided her in her daily life, and was evident in her belief that you need “faith & trust to guide you on your way.”  After her children grew up, Marilyn continued the adventures and started traveling and seeing the world, with a highlight being her trip to Europe where she visited her ancestral homelands of Scotland and England.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband Michael, their four children, and grandchildren, her brothers Don(Cathy) Glazebrook  and Jack(Colleen) Glazebrook. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, George & Lily Glazebrook.

Marilyn will be deeply missed and always remembered for her kindness to others, her love for her family and grandchildren and her ability to spark up conversation with anyone. Marilyn had advice for us all, but as taken from one of her journal pages Marilyn wrote “I want to put back into society something good…try to always make a difference! It could help one person and that could make a difference.” As we move forward in life and Marilyn’s legacy lives on, be the good in the world, as this is how she would want to live on in you.

Marilyn’s Celebration of Life service will be on Tuesday June 13, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at Cherished Memories Funeral Home, 591 Centennial Drive North, Martensville, SK., with her service led by Don & Cathy Glazebrook.
