Born to Mona (Warnica) and John Leece in Port Arthur, Ontario. The third of four children, Marjorie grew up a beloved daughter and sister.
She moved to Saskatoon in 1953 when she was 15. There she would go on to make many lifelong friends, get married and have 3 beautiful children, who each shared her adventurous spirit, independence, and love for family.
Marjorie was strong, social, spirited and loving. In addition to being a great mother she worked for many years at University Hospital. She also enjoyed singing in the choir, her church community, volunteering, taking university classes along with all the friends she had made over the years. Later in life she enjoyed travelling including Costa Rica, Cuba, Thailand, Grand Cayman and Mexico, not to mention her many visits to BC and Ontario to spend time with her family.
Marjorie was predeceased by her brothers Jack and Harold. She is survived by her sister Barb and Marjorie's three children Cheryl (Curtis), Carol (Andrew) and John (Tiffany), and her grandchildren Christopher (Sarah), Marley (Tess) and Desirae (Jeff), along with many nieces and nephews and she will also be deeply missed by former husband Jack Amor, and in-laws Pat, Myrla, Ray and Sheila.
A memorial service will be held on Friday Dec. 15 at 1:30pm at McClure United Church, 4025 Taylor Street East, Saskatoon SK., with reception to follow. We welcome you to wear pink as it was her favourite. In lieu of flowers, Marge asked for donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Special thanks to Amy McClure House, the palliative care unit at St. Paul’s hospital and the Days Inn Hotel for taking such great care of the family.
Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with the care and arrangements of Marjorie Amor.
