Marlene embraced everyday with enthusiasm and optimism, always looking for the first blooming crocus on a sunny hillside in Spring.
Marlene Redford (née Anderson) was predeceased by her loving parents Normann and Marian Anderson, and is survived by her husband, Barrie Redford; daughter, Jasmine Redford; grandchildren, Jaspar and Ivy Redford, son Linley (Jennifer) Redford; brother, Alan Anderson; and nieces, Emily and Maryanna Anderson.
Marlene graduated from the Wascana Institute in Regina and was a dedicated Registered Psychiatric Nurse. During her career she worked out of Valley View Centre (Moose Jaw), Sunset Extendicare (Regina), Del Haven Lodge (Saskatoon), and Extendicare Preston (Saskatoon). Family, friends, and work were very important to her. She enjoyed giving gifts and posting birthday and holiday cards, which often included cartoons and pictures. She loved her flower garden, antique collections, thrifting, visiting bookstores, and caring for her Yorkies, Molly and Teddy.
She was compassionate, kind, generous, always willing to listen to others, and is greatly missed. Her smile and laughter will be remembered by all.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Saint Paul’s Hospital, in respect to the kind staff who took such good care of her, or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Martens Warman Funeral Home is honoured to be entrusted with Marlene's care.
