Mike was raised by amazing parents, Steve and Louise, in a community that embraced him over his 41 years.  Alongside him, his brother Russ was a huge part of his life and Mike thought the world of him.  Later in life he was able to connect with his other brother, Mike, and they built a strong bond despite their physical distance.

His passion for helping kids find a love for the game of hockey (and other sports) allowed him to connect not only with his own children, but with so many others.  Kids really looked up to him and listened.  Racing was brought into his life at an early age and continued throughout the years.  Being a part of a crew was always like a second family to him.  These people will forever be family.  His bond with friends was untouchable.

And his own family – Kristen, Drew, and Desmond – lost a father and a husband way too soon.  He loved beyond words.  You could see it in everything that he did and the way that he looked at them and supported them.  Many memories were made doing the things he loved – hockey, the cabin life, fishing, skiing, and so many more – but the greatest of all of these was doing everything with them and for them.  For this we are grateful.

Some things won’t be able to be erased from our memories – his genuineness, his love, and his infectious laugh.

His life was a blessing.  His memory a treasure. He is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

The Funeral Service will be Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 2:00pm at the Northridge Centennial Community Centre, 901 3rd St N, Martensville, SK.
