Myrtle Lebold (Smith)

August 2, 1929 – May 18, 2023

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Myrtle Lebold on May 18, 2023, at the age of 93. She is now resting with the angels.

Myrtle was born on August 2, 1929, in the district of Guernsey, SK to Annie and Herbert Smith.  Her childhood days were spent with her siblings on the farm just outside of Guernsey.  She married her true love, Pius Lebold on October 14, 1948.  They lived in Wimmer, Quill Lake & Elfros, Saskatchewan until settling in Saskatoon.  They were blessed with two daughters.  In Saskatoon she worked as a Care Aide at Lutheran Sunset Home for 20 years until her retirement in 1992.  In retirement they enjoyed winters in Arizona and summers camping. Throughout her years she had seen many changes in the world; embracing life and learning new things even technology. In her later years many hours were spent on her ipad doing Sudoku.  Watching TV was a great pastime for Mom, she enjoyed her Bold & Beautiful and curling.  Mom was a very kind and gentle person who made everyone feel special. Family was so special to her, and she so enjoyed the fun and loving times at the family gatherings.  The grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in her heart.

She leaves to grieve two daughters; Janice Kaminski, Dianne (Don) Newcombe; grandchildren Ryan (Jenny) Newcombe, Ashley (Evan) Boehm; great grandchildren Kennedy Boehm, Peyton, Isabella & Sadie Newcombe; sister-in-law Gloria Novakoski; nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents; Annie and Herbert Smith, husband, Pius Lebold; brothers Manley Smith, Walter Smith, Elgin Smith, and Jimmy Smith; sister Florence Hood; and son-in-law Larry Kaminski.

She will be missed dearly by all that knew her and will be forever in our hearts. May God comfort us.

Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

There will be a family graveside service on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at 2:30 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon, SK.  Meet at the cemetery entrance gate at 2:30 pm.

Arrangements entrusted to Cherished Memories Funeral Services, Martensville, SK.
