Dwayne Hounsell

It is with sadness that the family of Dwayne Hounsell announces his passing on March 18, 2024 at the Hospice at Glengarda.  

Dwayne was most happy when he was surrounded by friends and family, sharing stories of past shenanigans or watching his Islanders, Packers or his “’Skimos”. Dwayne could often be found barbecuing or smoking ribs, with a glass of red wine in hand. His love for the outdoors lives on through his two sons, who will continue to honour him on their hunting and fishing trips. 

Dwayne leaves to mourn his wife, Karen; sons, Brock (Jessica) and Logan (Paris), and his grandson due to arrive this spring; step-children, Brittney (Guilherme), Daniel, and Melissa; siblings, Wanda, Ethel, Yvette and Dale; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dwayne was predeceased by his parents Paul and Georgina Hounsell.

We would like to thank all the friends and family that supported him during his difficult journey, especially our dear friend Fergie who was there every step of the way, taking Dwayne to appointments and to have his treatments. The care and compassion offered by the staff at Glengarda was amazing, and we couldn’t be more thankful. 

There will be no funeral at this time. Instead, we ask that you raise your glass and cheers to a great man gone too soon.
